This two-day advanced training course delves in to fly tipping and householder duty of care investigation and enforcement. Considering the legislation, investigatory techniques and powers, intelligence, enforcement and presenting best cases it is a must for any Local Authority officer involved in tackling fly tipping.

This half-day CPD accredited training course will look at the responsibilities held by businesses in relation to the legal storage and disposal of commercial waste. Delegates will also be provided with information in relation to powers available to require information to be produced in accordance with legislation in this important area of waste crime.

This one-day CPD accredited training course will look at the changes made to the legislation surrounding scrap metal, the administration of licences, offences that can be committed and enforcement action that can be taken to tackle this area of waste crime.

Local authorities have a role to investigate reports of abandoned vehicles. But not all vehicles reported as abandoned, will truly be abandoned. The vehicles may instead be untaxed, parked irresponsibly or have become part of a neighbour dispute.

Therefore, it is important that those responding to reports of abandoned vehicles know what to look for and how to deal with these correctly which will be covered in this training course.

Within the Neighbourhood and Community Standard, one of the required outcomes for registered providers is to ensure that the safety of shared spaces is maintained. This means working cooperatively with tenants, other landlords and relevant organisations to ensure the safety of shared spaces. 

Shared spaces can be negatively affected by waste crime. In this half-day training course we will consider what constitutes waste crime, what a shared space is, relevant organisations and how to set up strong partnership working groups to tackle fly tipping and other waste offences.

The Consumer Standards for Social Housing aim to ensure that tenants have a safe, secure and well-maintained home with support from their landlord. Within the four key standards is the ‘Neighbourhood and Community Standard’. This CPD accredited training course will provide an understanding of the offences, the roles and responsibilities, and actions that can be taken to prevent, reduce and tackle these types of waste crime and anti-social behaviour.

The course will also look at understanding the evidential requirements and enforcement action that can be taken when a Community Protection Notice is breached.
