Course Information:
This training course has been designed for officers involved in the investigation and enforcement of criminal investigations. Having been criminal investigators for a number of years, we can still remember our first ever PACE interview. And we’ll be honest we were terrified.
However, your first PACE interview doesn’t have to be a terrifying experience. We have designed a brand new “Practical PACE Interviewing Skills” one-day course, which has been designed to increase confidence for officers involved in conducting criminal investigations and interviewing suspects.
A key stage of a criminal investigation will involve the interviewing of a suspect for the offence(s). Officers need to be able to demonstrate that they can accurately conduct a PACE interview, question suspects, and provide pre-interview disclosure to legal representatives. These interviews will be used by decision makers and lawyers to make justified and proportionate assessments as to whether to prosecute an offence, and if so, help build the case. These interviews may subsequently be used in any trial to allow the court to decide as to whether a defendant is guilty or not guilty of the offence(s) for which they have been charged or summonsed.
The course will be delivered by Sarah Bradley, who has over 15 years’ experience as a criminal investigator within the police and a local authority. Sarah has a vast amount of experience in conducting criminal investigations and has received multiple commendations from the police for the standard of her investigations and work to tackle organised crime groups. She has also completed thousands of PACE interviews!
Due to the nature of this course, it can only be delivered in person.
Audience:
This course has been designed for any individual who is responsible for conducting a PACE interview as part of criminal investigations, whether as a lead interviewer or a second officer.
As well as being suitable for investigators, this course is also suitable for team leaders and managers who may have oversight of officers involved in criminal investigations.
These courses are capped to 10 people per session, unless otherwise agreed.
